::Need a Little Christmas::
Went next door to add a bit of Christmas cheer to the empty house. I'm so beyond frustrated with our builder, I've spent the better part of 2 hours composing a scathing letter, engaging all my powers of wit at sarcasm to rail against the stupidity of it all.
And I'm a truth-teller. I must speak truth. When this whole mess is over, and I'm finally moved, I will write a whole series of posts about what to beware of when building a house. I wouldn't wish this journey on any bright-eyed, bushy-tailed blogger/designer.
I flatter myself in letting them know in these ranty letter that I have a huge local following and wield much power in encouraging or discouraging their future customers via social media outlets like this blog and facebook. It's the only card I hold at this point. May not be an ace, but it's all I got.
Hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend. I tried to be thankful I've not spent the last 9 months in an apartment. I tried to be thankful my grandbabies will live next door. I tried to not eat an entire pumpkin pie.
Didn't have much success with that last item there.

Apparently the big one that scares corporations and large groups is YouTube. That is how BofA decided to change their minds about having customers pay a fee to use their bankcards! Social media is a powerful tool.
I feel your pain and frustration. Remember that you hold one last trump card - they don't get final payment until YOU are satisfied. Hand them a punch list of everything that needs to be done.
Did you have a completion date in your contract?
Sorry to hear about your frustrations with the build. I hope it all works out happily for you.
Well, thank God for pumpkin pie, huh?!? Sorry to hear about all the stuff. I think that's why we'll probably stick to old houses :)
I hope it all the ends get tied up soon, so you can move in before the end of the year!
We have built before, and the worse builder was suppose to be done in September, but delayed closing multiple times until New Year's eve. It must be worse in cold areas of the country.
Count your Blessings one by one...your new Home is beautiful and I cannot wait to see how decorate it.
Praying for smooth sailing on your closing :).
I've had so many problems while simply renovating, I can't imagine how hard it must be to take care of things for a new house! I have an appointment tomorrow with a carpenter, I'm taking a picture of your kitchen vent hood with me to show him!
So sorry you've had such difficulty and frustration. I would also suggest that you leave a detailed report with Angie's List. You don't have to be a member to leave a report. You'll be doing your community a service by letting others know what you have experienced.
I'm so sorry to hear of your frustration! It's terribly hard to count on someone and be disappointed. Hang in there, my friend.
Yikes, doesn't sound like fun. I've often thought my husband and I would never survive a house building process. But hopefully when all is said and done, it will be worth the anguish and you will love your new home!
