There are times...

...when a few simple words

are all that's needed

to pull you through.

And maybe just a few hours of working with your hands

using some pretty raw materials that make ya feel good,

and completing a simple task from start to finish

can make the big stuff, the scary stuff, seem not so big and not so scary.

So if you find yourself today feeling overwhelmed, scared, helpless, even hopeless

maybe take some time to do some handiwork

using things that you love

to create a space where peace can reign just a little in the midst of chaos and uncertainty.

Let simple words and simple crafts bring solace from the storm.

You said It! I find that finishing a small project really helps me cope with all the worries in my life. That sense of satisfaction, of control, helps when everything else seems out of control

Amen, Cindy. I think there are lots or life storms going on for many of us...and it is good to create a bit of order, and use our creativity, even if it is only in a small way. xo Diana

There is comfort in making something from start to finish. It's like a good book~you can lose yourself in it for awhile.
Your buntings are really cute!

It'll be a year next month since my mom passed away and I'm forcing myself to keep moving forward. You are absolutley right in saying that by starting a project is food for the soul. Thank you for your post. It speaks to me.

Wonderful words of encouragement today. Your post was very uplifting and a perfect way to start out a very busy week. I think we are all living in uncertain times and keeping our hands busy helps keep our mind busy focusing on something positive.

Good words, Cindy! I'm wondering how you're doing. . . how your mom's doing. . . glad to see that you can find some sanity and solace in doing something simple with your hands. Take care!

I totally agree! We all need to redirect our thinking at one time or another. And what better way than by doing something we love...Thanks for the reminder! Marcia

Those are beautiful! Even though they are banner style, hanging that way under the china gives it an elegant look!
Lovely.

I ditto the comments posted. In all of history, handiwork has carried women through the most trying and uncertain times and magnified times of celebration. BEAUTIFUL WORK, Dear One! love Mom

Love that hutch. and all your projects are so creative. I agree that working with the hands brings comfort and a state of peace from the storm. Like therapy, but cheaper.

Thank you for sharing this Cindy! I love it and may be making a tiny version to use on a wreath I'm working on.
