An old black rusty scale and some of those whatchacallers apples that are all lumpy and bumpy.
A vintage, chippy wicker vase thingy, which I flipped upside down and placed a $2 dried gourd on top:
Hard to see the colors, but it looked to have been pained pale yellow, then a pale aqua...beautious.
Old beat-up tool carrier. Bliss...I'd been looking for one to store pencils and rulers and sissors and so forth in the area where my kidlets do homework.
Super long gourd that I couldn't pass up, and didn't want to separate from his fat sister. Fab or what!
In all, I feel like it was a productive jaunt, but I sorely wish there were more junk shops. I hear there are a few more places in town to try, so maybe next week I'll venture out again.
EDITed to add that I'm linking up to Flea Market Style's first linky party "I'm a Fleamarketeer"
and Junkin' Monday over at Nice and Easy Antiques.

so you found some serious goodies --- good deals have a way of making us feel a little better cheerier! I LOVE that you turned the basket thing upside down - simple but genius display piece!

Hi Cindy
We are kindred spirits, I have the similar scale:)
And I am looking for an old tool caddy (for me).
I just became a follower, so I'll be back to visit often. Enjoy!

That long gourd is called a dipper gourd. We planted some this year but they didn't get that long. The idea is that when dried, you cut off half of the end---and you have a dipper! Nice finds too!
Nice to meet you (I have six kids too, but no homeschooling--wow--my hat off to you. I understand why people do it.)
Love that long gourd! And the tool carrier is fantastic!
I'm soooo digging that tool box ... fantastic!!

I've never seen a gourd quite like that! Love the tool carrier. I could use one of those on my desk. I get very crabby on dreary days...I too, find a little junk picks me right up!
Peace,
Ki
Definitely fab finds!
Oh wow great scale and tool carrier. It's been fun finding new bloggers that love the treasure hunt as much as I do.
