PSSSST...I'm no longer blogging here!

Sunday we made a drive down the road to my 19 yo daughter's apartment.
I had JUST picked up my new camera (Canon SX130is) that morning,
and while Hubs helped her hang some stuff,
I went around and clicked.
She's used quite a bit of my unused holiday decor...mostly the reds. And she got herself a tree :)
I think she did a great job hanging my old ornaments....
And using her imagination to make ornaments out of non-ornaments, like this berry pick:
All her living and dining furniture came from our house. She's got in on loan :)
Trying a little macro.....haven't nailed that yet :)
She wanted a coffee filter wreath too, so we made this together. We used a large form and mini-size filters.
I painted the tin stars and made the mini garland last year....
she draped them over this mirror thing I painted from Hobby Lobby.
Here's a shot of her kitchen. Notice I edited out the dirty dishes! We painted in here (as well as the family/dining area), and changed out the knobs from big bulky (filthy) pulls. Chalkboard and Christmas countdown from her mama too :)
This is Kristen's room....she made that entire collage herself by sticking up a huge plastic tarp and adding pictures one by one. Her room is cute when it's clean....
Here's the collage she made for the main room.
It's supposed to be a tree shape, but the joke is that it looks like a woman bending over :)
Her tv stand is the oak dresser I had been using in my bedroom. The chair is also mine.
Cheap storage, these adult children's apartments...
These were IKEA towels I stenciled last year.
This is her couch wall, but I couldn't show you that because, well, there was someone sleeping on it...
she painted this 70's lamp black. The pic is Kristen and her man Kelly...they're goofballs.
Not sure where she gets it.
Totally love how she draped these faux berries over her windows.
Her stocking I made a few years back with felt and ric-rac and such.
There ya have it. Sometime when it's cleaned up I'll do a proper tour for ya.
It's all stuff you've seen before, though, since it all came from my place :)
I must say I'm enjoying the camera, even though I need to practice with the flash, exposure and other settings. It takes way better pics right out of the gate than my last canon.
OH! and sorry about Mi4M....I figgered with all the dandy Christmas parties going on, I'd take a week off.
Speaking of which, I linked up with Courtney @ FRENCH COUNTRY COTTAGE for her Feathered Nest Friday Linky and Donna @ Funky Junk Interiors SNS-Full Home Christmas Reveals!

She's definitely got her mother's decorating genes! Her place is quite lovely. And that does look like a woman bending over!

She did a heck of a job! Her apartment looks beautiful!
I think I must be doing something wrong. I'm storing furniture for my kids. But after seeing this, I now know it should be the other way around.
What a fun tour...love all the close up pics.
The collage was amazing!
Merry Christmas!
Susan

I really like the berry garland above the slider, I need to get some of that for myself, my mom has tons of it and i always gush over it but can never find any *cheap*

ok, it all looks gorgeous, but i really can't look at the "tree' anymore without seeing a woman bending over.
Your daughter has a cute place and quite the imagination and creativity for decorating it! Her collages are fabulous. It must be fun for her to have her own place... She is lucky to have such a generous family to share their furniture with her (REALLY LOVE that blue chair!)
If she's anything like my daughter that just graduated from college last June, you'll be waiting awhile for that clean apartment to photograph ;)
Chris
cute apartment, love your furniture!
i had to laugh when you said the collage looked like a woman bending over, it really does:)
Cute little apartment. I remember back in the day when I made those collages all over my room... heh heh heh.
Glad to hear you are having fun with your new camera (not jealous at all, cough cough).
:)
What a great apartment. I am still laughing about the collage looking like a lady bending over, too funny and right on!
I know where she gets her creativeness from.... and silliness! Your leftovers look great. She also did a great job improvising!
Wow--what a dream to have a mom like you when it's time to furnish and decorate an apartment! Everything looks great and very comfortable. . . just what a first home ought to be. :)
I just love that first "looking at her world in a mirror" picture!
Tell me about her black and white print collage tree.
Your daughter is such a cutie...and so is her new home! She did a great job decorating...takes after her mom I guess! Great pics too! ~Deb~
Well, I see she has her Mom's eye (not literally-of course I KNOW you have your own eyes) for decorating! It looks great and her tree is beautiful...as is everything else you have "helped" her do! BTW-I think she should add a head to that woman ;>D xxoo Diana
ps---great job with your new camera!!
Hi Cindy, Your daughter's place is so fun with the right amount of funky. Isn't it amazing how a different generation can breath their own style into our old decor? I'm catching up on reading your blog, can't wait to see all of your Christmas pretties. Hugs, Kim
My mom's hand me downs were never quite so chic!! Your daughter has definitely inherited your crafty genes....those collages are awesome!!
Her apartment is cute AND funky! LOVE what she did with those walls!!!
Wow Cindy- what a creative girl you have there! Very cool apartment! I love the lady bending over- lol-really, it is neat to have all those pictures together in a collage and form on the wall - what a great idea~ She surely got your creativeness! Thanks for sharing this at Feathered Nest Friday this week ~ Merry Christmas!
