Brown Paper Packages.

Tied up with lots of beautiful string and ribbon and twine....look see what I got from Polly@ Sassafras Stuff!

A week or so back Polly had posted about some delicious brown transferware she'd put in her new shop
I decided I HAD to have them as I can never find brown transferware around here.
She was kind enough to package them up and ship them my way....with a surprise!

Raise your hand if you know why I adore this piece, and why Polly (sweet thing that she is!) decided to include it in my package?  SQUEEEEEE!!!
The serving dish and pitcher are the pieces I was crushing on to begin with....the gold-trimmed lidded jar is what she snuck in there as a surprise.

I mean come on....have you ever seen such goodness come to live at my house?
I think I'll just leave them there on my couch so I can stare at that delish grouping for awhile....*sigh*

Thank you ever so much, dear Polly, for taking time to send the pretties to me, for wrapping everything so beautifully, and for including such a perfect brown and blue jar for my collection.
*mwah*  You're a peach!

Everyone go see Polly's blog full of super awesome (sassafras) stuff!
She doesn't live too far from me, so I am planning a trip to see her shops in the spring.
Any other hoosiers up for a road trip? :)

Also, I'm linking this up with Debra @ Common Ground for her Vintage Inspiration Friday Linky!

beautiful pieces. I have a lid to something that is brown transfer ware. I love it so much it is hanging on the wall with two other lids from ironstone pieces.
Sounds like she has a great shop, going now to take a look.
Thank you for sharing her and your gifts with us.

When I saw the little bits of pale blue peaking through the brown on it, I gasped! It couldn't be more perfect for you. I occasionally see a piece of brown transferware and never noticed the blue before. It really is beautiful. I'm sure that must really be called the Harvey pattern of transferware :)

Oh, my! WOW! Those dishes are amazingly beautiful!! I want that pitcher! I think that I would be tempted to leave them on my couch to stare at for awhile too.
And I just love brown paper packages. I wanted to wrap our gifts in brown paper, but our local stores don't sell it. Just busy, gawdy stuff. Ugh. It's hard to get anything nice in our town.
We'll just have to order some brown paper online next year.
Hope you have a wonderful day!
Beth.

Sometimes the best things come in unassuming brown wrappers, don't they? Congrats on acquiring such lovely pieces to add to your collection--I'll be checking out Polly's blog for sure! I have exactly one piece of brown transferware that I picked up at a yard sale for a song and it makes me smile everytime I look at it. I'm sure yours do the same! :)
