::Some Whining::

PSSSST...I'm no longer blogging here!
You can now find me at
--------------------------------------------------------------------

I know you are all just waiting with bated breath to know what's going on with our build.

No?

Oh, well, humor me, eh?

A big fat zero is happening.

One delay and problem after another.

Dashed hopes.  Disappointment.  Frustration.

More money.

Stupid people.

We closed on the construction loan almost 6 weeks ago.

We moved into this temporary space almost 5 months ago.

There's a total lack of house on the lot next door.

Maybe a makeover will make you all feel better?

Meet Victoria.

I don't have a 'before'.
She was just a light stained oak.

I used van Gogh 'Chalk', distressed and then used Miss Mustard Seed's Dark Wax.

I wanted her details to still steal the show.

I think she'd be perfect in a cottage, shabby chic, or coastal setting....don't you?

I'll haul her around some parties, which will get posted when they go live.

Was the table already cut down when you got it? I actually have a mate but mine is standard table height and originally had a marble top. (Marble top is long, long gone!) I love how it turned out and it is such a cool table at sofa height!

She is lovely. I'd be more excited if she were in my living room.

That big, fat sucks. Not the table - that's beautiful. But the progress...or lack thereof. I could never, ever, ever build.

Beautiful table! And I hope your construction gets back on track soon. Waiting is no fun. :(

Beautiful table! I hope your house begins to start taking shape soon! WE are going through a similar ordeal here in NJ. My beautiful cottage home was destroyed by hurricane Sandy, and we are waiting for demolition and re-building. Love your Blog. Good Luck!

She's pretty cute, Cindy. What is NOT cute is the mess going on with your house. I am sorry that you have to deal with delays and all the horrors that new construction can bring- xo Diana

Great work, Cindy! I hope everything picks up on the house front. Greetings from humid France........Phew......

Very pretty!!!

Sorry about your house. We've done that a few times as well as gut places. I think new construction is tougher. When something is old one expects delays and things to go wrong. It's different when it is new more like, "Why can't they get their act together?!"

The table is gorgeous - love the details! I love the name you choose for her - especially considering my daughter's name is Victoria. I love how you name your pieces. I always attach a gender to my pieces but giving them a name is even better! Sorry to hear about your building frustrations.

Victoria has adorable legs. I hope the house construction is going to get better, but even with only renovation, there's a lot of frustration.

I hope the beauty of Victoria will help to lessen the construction woes. Good luck - at least you have furniture painting to distract you.

That table is so pretty...love all the details and the legs! Sorry about all the delays and frustrations on your house. I don't think I would survive building a house these days. Guess I'll just keep remodeling the one I have. Thank you for sharing it and your pretty desk at What We Accomplished Wednesdays. Have a great weekend!

Hugs,
Deborah
