Hi again Cindy, I screwed and glued the scrolly thing to the 1x6I predrilled so I wouldn't crack it. I hope this helped, let me know if you have anymore questions. PS I'm going to screw mine into the studs in the wall. I don't want any surprises as I sleep, such as waking up in the hospital. Have a good time with it.
